The 30th annual event is getting a new venue that promoters hope will capture the same allure of previous venues
It’s no longer on Key Biscayne, instead, the 10 day event is taking place at the Hard Rock stadium – home to the Dolphins and more. Here’s some quick points you need to know:
- There’s 29 permanent courts: 11 competition courts and 18 practice courts – a big upgrade over the old venue that could do much because of ongoing legal battles
- Food and experience have a big presence: there’s a “Grove” area with live music and a wide range of dining options including Chi Fa. “Old Miami” features food trucks, Bourbon Steak, Casa Tua Cucina, Bluestone Lane Café, Kim Crawford wine bar, Moet Chandon champagne garden, Sushi Maki and SuViche and more.
- There will be plenty of good photo opportunities: Art Open Miami will feature an on-site modern art gallery that are Wynwood Walls-inspired murals decorate the sides of the the grandstand stadium.
- The main court is actually INSIDE the Hard Rock stadium: it’s a 14,000 seat temporary structure built on the 30-yard line that is not only close to the action and intimate, but will utilize the facilities luxury amenities like the Dolphins’ 72 Club, The Nine suites, Cabana Suites and Courtside Living Room Boxes.
