About Key Biscayne Homes

Key Biscayne is a town/island in Miami-Dade County. It is located east of Miami and south of Miami Beach. It started developing in 1947, where the Rickenbacker Causeway that connects Key Biscayne to Miami was opened. Today, it is home to over 13.000 residents. On the north, the island is bordered by Crandon Park and on the south by Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. You’ll find the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side and the gorgeous Biscayne Bay on the western.
The island is one of the first towns in the Miami area to be evacuated before hurricanes due to its direct exposure to the ocean and its low elevation.
Key Biscayne was a quiet hidden town that only locals knew about. It didn’t draw international attention until the former U.S president Richard Nixon started spending Christmas in his “Winter White House” on the island. After that, Key Biscayne became a winter retreat to many celebrities and politicians.
The town offers a wide range of residential real estate. Most properties are multi-million waterfront, single-family homes with premium facilities and designs. You can find oversized lots with deep frontage, rooftops pools, indoor gyms, spacious bathrooms, European kitchens, walk-in closets, and much more. There are few luxurious condominiums available as well. Mackle beach homes with three bedrooms are at disposal too. They date back to the early 1950s when the island was first incorporated.
Thanks to their fantastic location and opulence of facilities, Key Biscayne homes for sale are some of the best homes in South Florida.
There are many things to do in Key Biscayne. If you want to get a taste of the area’s scenic nature, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on the south end of the island is the ideal destination. It features pristine beaches and one of the oldest lighthouses in the country.
