About Poinsettia Heights Homes

Poinsettia Heights is a neighborhood in the northern part of Fort Lauderdale, Boward County. The north is boarded by Wilton Manors, the south by Sunrise Boulevard, and the east by the Federal Highway US1. Neighboring areas include Middle River Terrace and Lake Ridge. Poinsettia Heights is home to over 2500 residents.
During the late 1940s and early 1950s, when the neighborhood was first founded, it was called “North Ridge.” Many homes were built during that period.
Today, Poinsettia Heights hosts a mixture of older classic homes and new construction homes, lined up on the streets from 15th Avenue on the west to 20th Avenue and Lake Melva on the east. To the North, The Middle River acts like a natural boundary separating the neighborhood from Lake Ridge.
Poinsettia Heights is primarily a single-family zone, with only a few townhomes and condos allowed along the two principal thoroughfares. In terms of size, homes usually range from 1,100 to 1,800 square feet. However, few recent construction homes can exceed 4,000 square feet. Price can go from $235K to $3.85M. On Lake Melva, there are some waterfronts properties for sale with lovely views of the water body.
With the combination of old and modern, small and large, waterfront, and dry lot, the area is gaining popularity among home buyers thanks to its South Florida’s charm and ideal location.
If you are looking to live in a quiet neighborhood with proximity to the beach, Poinsettia Heights homes for sale are a perfect choice for you. The community is friendly and family-oriented as it includes two high-rated schools: Bennett Elementary and Sunrise Middle School. Additionally, many parks, restaurants, golf courses, and chic shops are within walking distance. Popular destinations such as Galleria Mall, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, and downtown, Fort Lauderdale are only a few miles away.
