About San Marco Homes
San Marco is an upscale neighborhood in Miami Beach. It is part of the Venetian Islands, a series of artificial islands on Biscayne Bay. To the west, you’ll find Biscayne Island and to the east, San Marino Island.
San Marco is connected to the other islands via a series of quaint bridges and to Miami and Miami Beach by a picturesque causeway with gorgeous scenery.
Since its creation, the island has been home to many celebrities and famous names. San Marco Island is an exclusive community with many upscale Miami Beach homes in a lush tropical setting. It is the smallest and most prime of the six man-made with only 62 upscale estates, and a reputation of ultra-exclusivity.
The Venetian Islands were built in the peak of Florida’s real estate boom in the 1920s, as an attempt to emulate the beauty of the Italian city, Venice. Initially, the islands were designed with huge bridges and artistic lampstreets. And even though you can feel the European character in the rich history of the islands, San Marco homes feature a variety of architectural styles, from Contemporary to the classic Mediterranean, and include some of the latest amenities. You can find summer kitchens, spacious rooms, elegant formal dining rooms, media rooms, balconies, terraces, and rooftop pools with full views of the bay and Miami skyline.
Many homes have their private docks with 100 feet of water frontage that allow direct access to the ocean. Most San Marco homes are waterfront properties, but they are few inland homes available as well.
Additionally, several residences include Smart House technology systems that automatically regulate everything from lights to temperature. San Marco Homes for sale perfectly combine the old charm and modern luxury.
The island is within proximity to Miami and Miami Beach, two hot urban centers, where you can find the finest dining, shopping, and entertainment.
