The historical facility is getting a full renovation for the next generation of Olympic swimmers
The Aquatic Center of Fort Lauderdale, located just feet from Fort Lauderdale Beach is getting a new injection of updates and renovations.
The center has been the training ground for many Olympians and future Olympians, including Ryan Lotche and Caeleb Dressel who started swimming there in 1996.
“You have the beach right across the street,” Lochte said. “When I was growing up, there were snow cone stands over here, so if, like, I was able to win a race, I got a snow cone. I got to the beach, I had everything. This was, like, a beacon of where Olympians started.”
