Winterfest Night in Coral Ridge Country Club Runs on the Bridge Schedule

October 29, 2026

On Saturday, December 12, the Winterfest bridge closure table will set the evening in Coral Ridge Country Club Estates more than the 6 p.m. start time will. Winterfest posts an arrival estimate for its downtown viewing area, but none for the stretch of Intracoastal between Oakland Park Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard. What it does post is the time each drawbridge closes to cars and the time it reopens.

The 55th Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade starts at Stranahan House at 6:00 p.m. It heads east on the New River, then turns north on the Intracoastal for 12 miles to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach. According to Winterfest's event page, the parade takes about two and a half hours to pass any one spot, and the start time at each viewing point gets later as the route moves north. At the ticketed viewing area in Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park, the lead boats are expected around 6:30 p.m. This neighborhood sits several miles farther up the water, so its evening starts later and ends later.

How the Evening Runs North of Sunrise

Winterfest's bridge and waterway schedule is the closest thing to a local timetable. The organizers call the vehicle times approximate. Here is how those times fall for an address between the Oakland Park and Commercial drawbridges:

  1. 2:30 p.m. The New River closes to boats that aren't in the parade.
  2. 4:50 p.m. The Intracoastal closes from Port Everglades to the south side of the Oakland Park bridge.
  3. 5:50 p.m. The Intracoastal closes from north of the Oakland Park bridge to Lake Santa Barbara. This is the water off the neighborhood's eastern edge.
  4. 6:30 p.m. The Las Olas Boulevard bridge closes to cars until 8:30.
  5. 7:00 p.m. The Sunrise Boulevard bridge closes until 9:00.
  6. 7:30 p.m. The Oakland Park Boulevard bridge closes until 9:30.
  7. 8:00 p.m. The Commercial Boulevard bridge closes until 11:00.

Each bridge closes about half an hour after the one south of it. Those are the times the roads close, not posted arrival times for the boats. They still show how the evening moves up the waterway, and they show that the Oakland Park bridge stays closed an hour longer than Las Olas.

The Half Hour With No Road to the Beach

If you line the four Intracoastal bridges up side by side, every crossing from Las Olas to Commercial is closed to cars from roughly 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. For a household west of the water in Coral Ridge Country Club Estates, that means no road to the barrier island during that window. That matters if you have a dinner reservation on the Galt Ocean Mile, guests staying on A1A, or a drive home from a party at a friend's oceanfront condo.

The two bridges closest to the neighborhood also reopen at very different times. The Oakland Park bridge is scheduled to reopen at 9:30. The Commercial bridge stays closed until 11:00, the longest of any bridge on the list. On the north end of the neighborhood, the shorter route to the beach may be the last one to reopen.

One local detail is worth a call ahead. Bokampers, which sits on the Intracoastal near the Oakland Park bridge, tells its parade guests on its Winterfest event page:

"Oakland Park Blvd. Bridge closes at 8PM"

Winterfest's official table gives 7:30 p.m. and labels it approximate. If you plan around the earlier time, you lose nothing if the bridge actually goes up at 8:00.

The Water Closes Before the Roads Do

For waterfront homes on this stretch, the day ends earlier than it does for drivers. The Intracoastal north of the Oakland Park bridge closes to non-parade boats at 5:50 p.m. That is an hour and forty minutes before the Oakland Park bridge closes to cars.

The Coast Guard enforces its own rules on top of that. For the 2025 parade on December 13, a Coast Guard enforcement notice applied 33 CFR 100.702 from 1:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. It barred anyone not in the parade from entering, moving through, anchoring or staying in the regulated area without permission from the Captain of the Port Miami or a designated representative. That notice covered the 2025 parade only. The 2026 enforcement window will come in its own notice, so check the current one before taking a boat out on parade day. This is general information, not legal advice, and a boat owner's own situation is best confirmed with the Coast Guard or a maritime professional.

Once the parade has passed, the drawbridges return to their usual schedules. The Oakland Park draw opens on the quarter hour and three-quarter hour. The Commercial draw opens on the hour, at 20 minutes past and at 40 minutes past.

A Season Already Organized Around the Oakland Park Crossing

Long before December 12, several of the season's events sit just across the Oakland Park bridge. The first is Light Up the Galt on Thursday, November 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at North Beach Restaurants and Shoppes, NE 33rd Avenue and NE 33rd Street. The City of Fort Lauderdale's events page lists live music on 33rd Street, a holiday pop-up gift market with local businesses, a Letters to Santa station and a tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. Getting there is a regular weeknight crossing, with the draw opening at :15 and :45. The city's Light Up the Beach follows on Thursday, November 19, at Las Olas Oceanside Park.

The bridge also has a new neighbor on the way. According to the Sun Sentinel, Thasos Greek Taverna at 3330 E. Oakland Park Blvd., just east of the drawbridge, has closed. Meat Market bought the property in June to open its first Fort Lauderdale restaurant. Meat Market CEO David Tornek told the paper that construction would begin soon and that an opening timeline would be announced later. As of the paper's August report, no opening date had been announced.

Parade-Route Tables Near Oakland Park Boulevard

This year's theme is "Party in the U.S.A.," marking America's 250th anniversary. Winterfest's hotels, restaurants and attractions directory can be filtered to show places "On Parade Route." Several of them have NE 32nd Avenue addresses near the Oakland Park bridge:

Venue Address in Winterfest's directory What's known for 2026
Bokampers Sports Bar and Grill 3115 NE 32nd Avenue Watch party on December 12, VIP seating from $140
Shooters Waterfront 3033 NE 32nd Avenue On the parade-route list
Mastro's Ocean Club 3000 NE 32nd Avenue On the parade-route list
Kaluz Restaurant 3300 East Commercial Blvd. On the parade-route list

Bokampers describes its patio and dock as front-row seating for the parade, with music, performances and fireworks. Greater Fort Lauderdale's 2025 spectator guide named Shooters Waterfront, Mastro's and Bokampers as places to eat during the parade. It also pointed to Blue Moon Fish Co. on West Tradewinds Avenue in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Kaluz, and Houston's at 2821 East Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach for spots farther north. A table at any of these places means planning around the same bridge table, and from the Commercial Boulevard end of the neighborhood, the last bridge on the route is scheduled to reopen to cars at 11:00 p.m.
